i started public space, a vaporwave streetwear brand, in 2016. my fascination with nostalgia and the halcyon days of the internet led me to the dreamy, post-modern, surreal aesthetic of vaporwave.
it began as a one-man project, where i designed all of the clothing, managed the website, ran paid advertising and social media, interfaced with the manufacturers, and handled customer support.
over time, the company grew to over $1M in annual sales, with over 150,000 followers across social media and email, and i managed a team of seven people as the ceo and creative director.
